Learning to sew

Not so much as learning but teaching myself. I've fixed my sons glasses strap, and altered my running arm band for my iPhone- today's task was to make a sweatshirt a bit smaller in the waist and arms. I did a good job! I turned it side out, the pinned the shape I wanted to sew. Sewed along the lines and cut off th excess material.

Here's the before-

And here's the after

It's still baggy, however it's taken in a bit so I don't look lik om drowning in my shirt! Lol. Not bad for a newbie! Mick is asking that I make her clothes. We'll give that a try after some more improved alterations.

Another week?

Hubby has been gone for a week playing army up north and thankfully he came home for a brief 24 hours to pick up his new shotgun- unfortuneately he has to go back again. I'm sad. To be totally honest it is nice having my room on the bed, however it's much better to get to share the bed and havsomeone to cuddle.

The kiddos had crazy hair day today at school- they have been planning their hair style for a week now and they were ready to go this morning.

This is my last free Saturday for the next 9 weeks- and I will enjoy it! A little bit of sleeping in climbing back on the running routine and hanging with the kids on Saturday. Sunday we have a birthday party. Monday I don't have school so that will become my cleaning day (Wednesdays were before that) and Tuesday at 7am we start with life span psych! Joy! (I hope you can read the sarcasm there).

Off to relax some more!

Technical skill is mastery of complexity while creativity is mastery
of simplicity.

Last final of term 1

Today is the last final for my first term at WCU!! I'm so excited! I have found my groove and I am on my way to becoming a nurse. Here is a list of what I've learned in the last 10 weeks
-your children can be great study tools, teach them and you will learn yourself
-it's ok to be the draconian leader of your study group
-it takes a lot of work to learn new concepts
-non-pc stories are ok to use for examples as long as you rememer the story
-unfortuneately if on system in your body gets a glich, you can die
-learning about all the extremes in body mechanisms makes you a more paranoid mom, sometimes there is such a thing as too much info!

This has been a great term and I am so thankful for the great friends I've made and I really hope that we remain friends!

Here's my baby ready for his first feild trip!
